Hello…..dear readers !!! How have you been ? We hope you all have great days as you wish. Today it’s time to talk about a local community in Krabi Province. When we think of Krabi, we think of marine tourism, which has many beautiful islands to visit. Ban Koh Klang Community is the same as those. It is located at Klong Prasong Subdistrict, Muang District, Krabi Province. It is  on an island in the middle of the Krabi River, and surrounded by mangrove forest. People here live simple lives in agriculture and handicrafts. Most of the villagers are Muslim & saltwater fishermen, which are the main ones.

The villagers of the  Koh Klang Community have gathered together to set up a community for  sustainable tourism. Muslim-local lifestyle with art & culture passed down. It is a community attraction near Krabi town, which still maintains the integrity of lifestyle, local wisdom with the pure nature of mangroves and beautiful scenery of Krabi.

There is also a fresh seafood restaurant on a raft cage for tourists to enjoy. Convenient transportation is within 10 minutes by taking a long-tail boat service at Chao Fah Pier or the Park  Pier, Muang District. Tourists can use the tricycles to travel around on the island.

The highlight of Ban Koh Klang Community is the conservation of the bow boats, which is another symbol of the villagers of the Koh Klang, by using local fishing boats to adapt as tourist boats. In addition to fishing, they are also used to travel and sail to various places, as well as making “replica boats” for sale as souvenirs. These greatly increase income for the community. Moreover, there are also batik making, rice farming, cavity beekeeping, shallow pontoon fishing activities and shellfish tattooing.

*Khao Khanap Nam is a tourist destination which is a symbol of Krabi Town. There are two mountains standing out by the Krabi River. They are known as one of Krabi’s most famous landmarks, surrounded by a prestige mangrove forest, covering hundreds of thousands of rai.

You can visit that place by taking a long-tail boat service at the Chao Fah Pier. It will take only 15 minutes to go there. While traveling by the boat , you’ll enjoy looking around the beautiful & peaceful scenery. You’ll feel excited to see many kinds of aquatic animals & birds while passing by the mangrove forest too.

Visiting Tham Khao Khanap Nam, there is a spiral staircase into there. It is a cave with beautiful stalactites & stalagmites. It is worth a visit since a few ancient human skeletons were unearthed and Japanese troops camped there during World War II. On the other hand, it is assumed that it may be the skeletons of a group of people who migrated to settle down but die to the sudden flooding.

**Lan Poo Dam <The Mud Crabs Sculpture> It is located in town at Khanap Nam Pier. It is the top view of Krabi Town. Whoever visiting Krabi must check in this unique place in order to see Khao Khanap Nam, the two mountains standing out by the Krabi river. Here consists of a huge crab & smaller ones around. In Thai, it is called “Lan Poo Dam”. This is one of Krabi’s iconic images also. With Khao Khanap Nam mountains in the background, we have there “The two of the symbols of the city”. In addition, there is still nearby “A Nok-Ork or Eagle Statue”, the resident birds of Krabi. Both black crabs & eagles indicate the abundance of Krabi Town. Today we’re going to introduce you “Khlong Sa Kaew” first because it’s a new tourist attraction that has recently gained popularity, located at Moo 1, Baan Nai Sa, Kho Thong Sub-district, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi Province. The source of the pool is a beautiful & colorful freshwater stream that flows coolly amidst the natural forest of the rainforest and flows through the fertile swamp forest until it penetrates into the Andaman Sea.

Khlong Sa Kaew is very crowed with people both the locals and foreign tourists come to play in the water and relax themselves to cool down, due to the sweltering weather. The water is very clear & emerald green. It impressed foreign tourists who came to experience it, leading to the naming of this area as the “Amazon of Krabi”.

You can see the ground below clearly because of the clarity of the water in the canal. Its distance is about 2 kilometers. Here is very popular for tourists to relax and do various water activities such as…swimming, jumping, tubing and not to be missed is kayaking to see the nature of the forest on both sides of the canal. It’s really chill and you can get a sweaty workout too.

In addition, if you want to chill out on a walk, there are nature trails and ecotourism, 500 meters long to walk along the canal. Sometimes, we will wade through the water during the high tide, which the water is very clear & cold. And….along the way, we will find a spot of interest with a sign. “This area is the church pillar”. That is a temple, which is already about 300 years old. Then if you want to take some photos at the “Khlong Sa Kaew Cave” ,which is the upstream point of Khlong Sa Kaew, about 1 kilometer away. We have to say the water in this area is very deep, not suitable for people who can’t swim well & don’t have a life jacket.

Lastly, anyone who comes to Krabi wants to change the atmosphere from the sea in order to escape the heat of the sun, and go to play in cold & clear water instead, like emerald & shady atmosphere, surrounded by the shades of trees. It is located in Ao Nang Subdistrict, Muang District, Krabi Province, within the boundaries of Nopparat Thara National Park – Phi Phi Islands.

The Sea of Thailand is a paradise for tourists who love the beauty of the emerald waters just like precious stones and a cozy atmosphere that help healing and recharge lives. The latest World Beach Guide Website searches and collects beach information to introduce people to beautiful beaches from different corners of the world. The top 100 beaches on Earth 2023, which the beaches from Thailand have been ranked up to 5 places. One of them is Railay Beach, Krabi. It has been ranked 9 th, among the best beaches in the world. (Apr. 7, 2023)

Railay Beach is a white sandy beach by a canyon, and very well known among tourists, especially those who love rock climbing. It is divided into East Railay Beach (Nam Mao Beach) and West Railay Beach. There are rocks separating the two beaches. The beach area has many tourist accommodations. It is accessible by boat from Ao Nang and take 10 minutes.

Railay Beach may be understood by many people as an island, but it is actually located on the land, but you have to travel by boat because it is surrounded by mountains on all sides. 2.Railay Rock Climbing : An activity for all power freaks, we would say that you should not miss it. It is recommended to play in the morning because it is an activity that uses a lot of energy.

3.Railay Viewpoint : Visitors will have to take a short hike to get the highest view of Railay.

4.Princess Lagoon : Railay’s unseen swimming spot where the trail is definitely not sprinkled with rose petals because there are both walking up & down hills, rock climbing. It is recommended to have a trail expert as well. And… do not go after the rain because it is very slippery and dangerous.

5.Bat Cave Viewpoint : An observation desk, overlooking the beautiful beach. In the evening, bats are out looking for food. You can see bats flying into the sky in flocks.

6.Kayaking : When you paddle to the back of the island, you will find a secret corner where the water is very clear, but don’t forget to apply sunscreen cream.

7.Sunset Watching : Railay is the most beautiful sunset spot. Most foreigners prefer to bring couples to soak up the atmosphere. See the beauty of the sunset, when the sun reflects off the rocks down to the bay: Coconut palms line up in rows and …fishing boats line the shore. Hello……everyone !!! Phra Nang Cave Beach is another a very attractive beach in Krabi province with beautiful sea and limestone mountains. It is also called “Ao Tham Phra Nang”, or “Tham Phra Nang Beach”. It is within the boundaries of  Nopparat  Thara National Park. It is at the southern end of Railay Beach. It features limestone mountains and cliffs which is a tourist attraction that foreign tourists come to climb because of the steep cliffs.

 The beach is about 400 meters long that is a clean beach with clear water. The clear water is suitable for various activities : in the morning, swimming, kayaking, sunbathing, climbing, playing volleyball, football, etc., and…watching the sunset in the late afternoon.

During the day, it is crowded with both Thai and foreign tourists who come with tours and from East Railay Beach. In the evening, it will become calm because tourists begin to gradually return to their accommodations. The tourists who stay at Railay Beach & Ao Tham Phra Nang will be able to sit and wait for watching the sunset romantically.

Visitors may also witness a rare phenomenon in front of the bay : the “dazzling water” ,or “splash of water”. It is a natural phenomenon, which occurs when tourists throw stones, pebbles ,or bring the body to contact with the water surface in front of Ao Tham Phra Nang, and then flash light at the touch point for a while before fading away.

Some scholars explain that this phenomenon is caused by some “plankton” species that live abundantly in the sea in front of Tham Nang Bay, stimulated by vibrations from falling objects that come to contact with the water surface and then glow.

There are stalagmites & stalactites inside the cave hall. It is intricate in layers, with lights shining on for tourists to explore. At the mouth of  the Phra Nang Cave, there are vendors coming to sell food, drinks, souvenirs for sale. Traveling to Tham Phra Nang Beach can be reached in the same direction as Railay Beach. It can be reached on foot, not by car because it is blocked by forest and limestone mountains, so you only have to take a boat. There is crystal clear water, clean white sandy beach. It is not very crowded.

 At the end of the beach, you will find Phra Nang Cave, a small cave that houses the shrine of  Her Majesty that is respected by sailors and locals. The sailors will come to pray before setting sail for the sea and the locals will be lucky and fulfilled for fishing.

Moreover, it is a sacred place & the highlight that is very unique like no others. Many sacred things are brought to worship inside the cave, especially a lot of  images of penis. Tourists and Krabi people come to pay their respects to make a wish for a baby, or ask for a bachelor partner.

Although in the end, no one knows the origin of the story  of the “Legend of Phra Nang Cave”, but the way of faith – the faith of people, mixed with the natural beauty and the strange phenomenon of  “water showers” that occurs in the twilight, has become a enchanting charm  that makes this “Ao Tham Phra Nang” will continue to be visited by tourists for a long time. Hello………..everybody !!  Today we’re going to talk about “The Gastropod Fossil Site” in Krabi. It is an attraction worth seeing, it is also known as “Susan Hoi”, “the Shell Cemetery” or “Fossil Shell Beach”. It is one of the only three shell cemeteries found world wide, the other two sites are locally in Chicago in the USA and the other is in Japan.

It is located on the seashore of Ban Laem Pho, Sai Thai Subdistrict, Mueang Krabi District, in the area of Hat Nopparat Thara National Park, with a wide limestone courtyard jutting into the sea. When you look closely, they are the fossils of freshwater mollusks that are packed into a rocky beach by the sea.

Krabi Shell Cemetery is one of the tourist attractions that is usually classified in Krabi travel programs. Although the name begins with “cemetery”, it’s not as scary as it sounds. There are many fossils of freshwater mollusks that have been deposited for a very long time. It took several millions of years to form limestone layers, considered a natural wonder and one of the rare archaeological evidences. This place is very awesome if you are there at the low tide. You won’t be able to see much while they will be under water.

Furthermore, the atmosphere is very relaxing & peaceful. There are a lot of trees along the way down to the beach. The path down is made of many large limestone staircases to take you to see the fossil rocks. During going down, there are some pavilions at intervals  where you can relax yourselves. And… it’s very perfect for taking photos of the beautiful scenery or sitting  & relaxing to have a picnic with your friends or family. We’re very sure that’s also a good idea. On the way back up, you can buy some souvenirs  which most of them  are beautiful accessories & other items made of seashells, and especially pearls are also very interesting for women.
