Wat Tham Sua / Tiger Cave Temple, Krabi

Good afternoon…everybody !!! How are you keeping ? Hope everything is great for you !!! Today the topic is “Wat Tham Sua / Tiger Cave Temple”. It is located at Moo 12, Ban Tham Sua, Krabi Noi Sub-district, Muang Krabi District, Krabi Province. This place is a religious landmark & a very famous temple as well as an interesting tourist attraction. It is not only a beautiful place, but also an important archaeological site. And…it’s not far from Krabi Town about 5-6 kilometers with an area of 200 rai. The name of the temple is assumed that there used to be tigers living in the past when it was still overgrown forest, and villagers always saw tigers walking in and out of that area.

Wat Tham Sua is a private temple, affiliated with the Buddhist monks of the Maha Nikai Section. It is a wonderful and interesting place to practice “Vipassana Meditation” (insight development). There is a cave in the shape of a tiger’s hand  with a pleasant scenery. It is surrounded by large trees that are hundreds and thousands of years old, due to the hills surrounding them on all sides. This area is not only a place of introspection, but also an archaeological site for 2 periods, the prehistoric period and the early period of history. Many artifacts such as stone tools, fragments of earthenware and raw amulets have been excavated.

The main thing in the temple is the Guan Yin (Mae Kuan Im), which is more than 5 meters tall and is enshrined inside the temple. It is not only a place to measure the mind to walk through the 1,237 steps, but also a tourist attraction “the sea of clouds viewpoint” that tourists should not miss to visit. That is the amazing experience of the beauty of the 360 degree view around Krabi town. It means you can see the most beautiful angle of Krabi.

Finally, we hope you have wonderful moments with your friends & family. Now it’s time to say “bye-bye”. See you….!!!  :))
